    Eathel Marnette (Guest) Porterfield of Malvern passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the age of 96. Eathel was born to John William and Bertha (Phillips) Guest on April 15, 1917. She married Clarence Duffie Porterfield on October 15, 1934 and lived in Hot Spring County the majority of her life. She was a wonderful seamstress. Eathel also loved canning and working on puzzles.

    Eathel is predeceased by her parents; husband; sons, Floyd Delton Porterfield and David Franklin Porterfield; brothers: Winston and Havis Guest; and sisters, Luttie Fite and Lois Turner.

    Eathel is survived by her daughter, Bertha (Kenneth) Shinn of Magnet Cove; sons, Arlis (Danielle) Porterfield of Cabot and Ray (Carol) Porterfield of Magnet Cove; brother-in-law, Kenneth Turner Sr.; grandchildren, Dwayne (Cathy) Shinn, Kenda (Tom) Plaxco, Marty Porterfield, and Andy Porterfield; great-grandchildren, Jared (Jennifer) Shinn, Jessica (Josh) Wilson, Whitney Kate Almond, Blake Almond; great-great-grandson, Silas Almond; and the light of her life, great-great grandson, Jace Wilson.

    Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Meadowview Baptist Church with Brother Shaun Holland officiating. Burial will be at Round Hill Cemetery.

    Pallbearers will be Larry Launius, Sonny Porterfield, Robert Porterfield, Jared Shinn, Josh Wilson, Blake Almond, and Tommy Plaxco.

    A special thank you to the ICU staff at Baptist Hospital at Malvern, Dr. Ray Bollen, and especially to Debbie and James, and the staff at the Crossing.
